Pakistan is a popular tourist destination due to its diverse cultures, people and spectacular landscapes and its many ancient historical sites which attract tourists to visit Pakistan each year. English and Urdu are spoken and the people are welcoming and happy to meet and greet foreign trekkers and travelers. As well as its beautiful landscapes, Pakistan has some of the world’s best trekking and hiking trails. Northern Pakistan is an uncrowned gem where you can walk for days on even the most popular routes without seeing many other trekkers. Treks typically start at the highest elevation farming villages, almost all of which are accessible by road. The trek routes then follow ancient trails to wild flower covered summer grazing pastures (for yaks, sheep and goats) where glaciers, towering mountains and magnificent peaks may be surrounding you. Some of the more popular trekking routes are also the approach routes for mountaineering expeditions. Shams Alpine has much experience and offers a large selection of treks in all of Northern Pakistan and especially in the Hunza and Nagar areas and north to Shimshal, Braldu, Passu and Batura areas. In the north east we trek to Snow Lake, Biafo, Baltoro glaciers and the many high and lower altitude treks of the Karakoram from Skardu. Shams Alpine guides are happy to customize your trek to fit your time schedule and areas of special interest to you.
